SOUTHGATE NEEDS TO FIND MIDFIELD SOLUTION TO PROBLEMS

England’s loss to Czech Republic was their first loss in qualifying in close to a decade which showed the dominance that the Three Lions have displayed during this period of time. The general perception from the British media was that the loss was due to the poor midfield selection by manager Gareth Southgate.

This has been a reoccurring issue for Southgate during his time as England boss. Despite the wealth of attacking options for the team, the midfield is one area where England lacks star quality. Henderson came under heavy fire, the Liverpool captain is a quality player, but he is not the sort of player that can dictate the tempo of the game.

Road to Pro Soccer: 4 Highlanders Move Forward

Gaining success at lower levels involves both good and bad things. They also have to play minus those players for the rest of the season as well.  Alec-Michael Petrizzi, Connor Guilherme, and Joshua Walter left to pursue the pro opportunities regarding the fourth and fifth division. 4th player, Jonathan Walter got a chance to play with U-19 German clubs.

The Walter Brothers are out of the Niendorf’s Pacific Elite Soccer Institute, based in Victoria. They were also part of the Westcastle team, the champion of the Vancouver Island Soccer League Jackson Cup, this spring. Petrizzi belongs from Florida, while Connor Guilherme has just been out of the UBC Thunderbirds as well as the Vancouver Whitecaps Academy. Niendorf spent 26 years in Calgary, though he was born and raised in Berlin. He still maintains close connections with German soccer. He played a vital role in the signing of Owen Hargreaves, former English international by Bayern Munich, known as the legendary club of Germany. Paul Ince Compares Ashley Young to James Milner

Former Manchester United star Paul Ince claims that Ashley Young has become somewhat similar to James Milner in that his professionalism has been very crucial to United’s campaign. Young is towards the tail end of his career and he is already one of the long serving members at Manchester United. The 33-year-old came to Manchester United in the summer of 2011 for around £ 20 million. He was signed from Aston Villa as a winger and he is one of the few players left in the squad are to have been signed by Sir Alex Ferguson.

However, his contract is up at the end of the year and it is highly unlikely that Manchester United will renew the deal considering his age. Even though he was a winger at the start of his career with Watford, Young has slowly been able to play a number of roles for Manchester United over the years. The winger has also been capable of playing as the full-back. This versatility has also helped him make an appearance for England after making his debut in 2007. Best known for his accurate crosses during his best years, Young was never able to touch the heights of a David Beckham. Even though the player has been marginally used in recent seasons, Ince says that United’s stand to benefit a lot from the presence of Young this season.
