Owen Hargreaves was impressed with the performance of Greenwood during the Champions League clash with Swiss champions Young Boys on Wednesday night and he believes that the Englishman might have played his way into contention for the Norwich City game on Saturday as far as Premier League football is concerned. In his post-match reaction on BT Sports,Owen Hargreaves deserved Greenwood as a special player as he talked about the quality shown by the Manchester United attacker during the Young Boys clash.

Manchester United interim boss Rangnick gave an opportunity to a lot of fringe players, young players and players coming back from injury during the Young Boys clash as the German tactician used the opportunity to rest several players in the regular starting XI.

Rangnick took charge of his first game in the Manchester United dugout against Crystal Palace on Sunday and he marked it with a slender win. The newly appointed interim manager had Brazilian international Fred to thank for the only goal of the game on the way to the 1-0 win over the Eagles in the Premier League. The important win over Palace ensured that Manchester United moved into the top six and three points off West Ham United in fourth place as the keenly contested top-four race becomes more interesting.

In his second game as the Manchester United boss, his much-changed team played out a 1-1 draw at home to Young Boys. Mason Greenwood gave Manchester United the lead in the ninth minute with a smart finish off the cross from compatriot Luke Shaw and at the expense of Young Boys. The visitors then equalised three minutes from the half-time through Fabian Riedel to secure a 1-1 draw.
